Continuing our topic How to protect yourself from flies in the house? we answer a frequently asked question. Where is the right place to install equipment indoors?

SELECTING A LOCATION FOR AN INSECT BUILDING

Each application is unique, so each situation must be assessed individually and a decision made on where to install the insect repellent based on basic principles. •

  • Recommend enough electric insect repellents to protect the entire area . ​ ​ ​ ​
  • Install electric insect repellents away from light sources – windows , doors and high - powered lights . ​ ​ ​ ​ ​
  • Consider these sources of heat and airflow : heaters or air conditioners .​ ​ ​
  • Do not install electric insect repellents where food is being prepared or similar.
  • Adhesiveboards should be used in areas where food is being cooked or prepared .
  • Consider how the fixtures will be accessed during installationand subsequent maintenance .
  • If possible, insect screens should be installed at a 90° angle to a source of natural light, such as windows, doors and glass roofs. (See plan)
  • Insecttraps should be installed between potential entry points to stop insectsbefore they get where theyshould n't.​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​​​​ ​
  • Insect repellents should not be installed very high or very low in the room you want to protect - the optimal height is approximately 2 meters.
  • choose dark areas where the light source is more visible.
